Lost pet help
www.nextdoor.com post your pet’s photo and as much info about them as you can to this site once you make a profile. Your neighbors can be the best tools in the search for your missing pet

How do I find my pet?
- START SEARCHING IMMEDIATELY! If your pet ends up in a shelter, the stray hold is not long (only a few days at most shelters, especially in the spring and summer). Post a missing report with a photo at your local shelter. Go in person and look at the cats/dogs. Go daily. Your description may not match what others think that specific cat/dog looks like and the miscommunication can keep you from finding your pet.
- Post signs with photos in your neighborhood, talk to neighbors. Cats especially will go into garages and sheds and can get locked in accidentally. Post on www.nextdoor.com
- Cats do not wander far from their home, generally less then 500 feet. Look under shrubs, up in trees (even if they are declawed), in sheds, behind patio/yard storage bins, look up against the house. Look at different times of day, especially in the evening as cats are more active (in nature) in the evening hours.
- Your inside cat will not act normally when outside. They often won’t make any sounds or come to your call. http://www.missingpetpartnership.org has great info about personalities of pets when missing
- Some people will put the cat’s litter box outside to get their scent out there.
- If your pet is microchipped, contact the chip company to file a missing report.
- Try putting a smelly food out for your pet. You will need to monitor this closely as you will end up with lots of animals coming to visit
- If you think you have spotted your cat, but can’t get them to come to you, we can loan you a safe trap to help you catch them. Just email us for more details: catmatchers@yahoo.com
