We can take many things (within reason of course). Don’t worry about those socks that don’t match or the shirt that may have a small stain. We have donation drives throughout the year.
How it works:
- Cat Matchers will be working with Donate 2 Impact. We have chosen the option of having the items donated to us then we deliver to them.
- We have a few individuals who like to sell items on Ebay and Facebook Marketplace. They will take some of the donated items to sell on our behalf.
- Volunteers will go through the items and set aside for online sales and garage sales first. We will also set aside items that may help other rescue groups or shelters (which we have done with previous garage sales). Then we will have a delivery to Donate 2 Impact for the rest of the items.
- They take things that can be sold at their resale shops. Any items that aren’t sell-able are sent to companies that use recycled textiles in products. This is a win-win for Cat Matchers and the environment!
How you can help:
- Separate and mark the items you are donating. Keep those things that are damaged or missing a pair (socks/shoes) together, but separate from the other items.
- Did you know that single socks, depending on size, make a great t-shirt for a cat recovering from certain surgeries or make great rice-packed heating pads for bottle kittens?
- Scraps from certain fabrics make great blankets and beds for cats/dogs.
- Old towels are great for cleaning cages
- If you are wanting to donate larger items/furniture, please contact us to make sure we can take it. There is a limit on larger items that we can take. Donate 2 Impact does not take furniture. We may have to delay the pick up until there is a storage spot/delivery date.
- Host a garage sale with the items we collect
- Join our online sellers on behalf of Cat Matchers
- We can also take items if it is not within the specified donation drive window – please reach out to us.
